Episode 82: What Is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a philosophy, art and science that recognizes the body’s inherent processes of healing. In fact, it’s the oldest form of healing, dating back thousands of years.

Many people don’t realize that the foundation of naturopathic philosophy is built upon Hippocrates’ principles, such as “first do no harm,” “let food be thy medicine” and “all diseases begin in the gut.”

Naturopathy takes the whole person into consideration and uses natural modalities and a non-invasive approach to address root causes, stimulate healing, and ultimately achieve harmony in the body, mind and spirit.

Naturopathy has helped millions of people. Some could argue that it’s helped every single living person whether they know it or not, because it employs the healing benefits of living foods, water that’s fresh and clean, sunlight, movement, herbs, essential oils, massage therapy, homeopathy, positive thinking, and the list goes on.

Naturopathy shines as preventative medicine. By embracing its fundamental laws of natural living, one is able to maintain freedom from dis-ease. It’s no wonder that today, naturopathy is the primary form of healing for more than 65% of the world’s population.

Naturopaths are trained to understand the uniqueness of each person — their vital force, their constitution, their pre-dispositions to dis-ease and the roots of their symptoms. This allows for a custom approach when determining which naturopathic modalities and therapies would best support a client and their healing.

In today’s episode, I share with you a high-level perspective of naturopathy, the healing process and what it means to address root causes.
