Why Mosquitoes Bite Some People More Than Others: Bug Bites: Part 1 of a 3-part series

Every family has one. The mosquito magnet. The one who walks outside for five minutes and comes back covered, while everyone else is untouched. Sometimes it's a kiddo. Sometimes, mama, it's you.

Here's what I want you to know: being bitten more than everyone else isn't bad luck. It's communication from the body. And once you can read the message, it becomes a real opportunity for healing.

Why Mosquitoes Bite Some People More Than Others

Mosquitoes are drawn to a body that's deficient in B vitamins. They're also drawn to a body with yeast or candida overgrowth. And when there's a chronic yeast story, it almost always points us deeper, to heavy metal toxicity and mineral deficiencies underneath.

Then there's the reaction itself. When a body has a hard time moving through bug bites, or reacts loudly, with big welts, intense itching, swelling that lingers, that's telling us the drainage pathways are sluggish. The system is easily overwhelmed and struggling to clear what it's exposed to.

So when I see someone who's super reactive to bites, whether it's a child or a grown adult, I don't see a nuisance. I see a BIG communication. And a big opportunity.

I have so many case studies of FEM families whose kids, through foundational work, are no longer mosquito magnets and no longer reactive to bites. The terrain changed, and the bugs lost interest.

So Where Do We Start?

Step one is always to build the body up. This is where I focus on mineralization, plenty of saturated fat and real salt, FEMfusion for hydration and weekly detox baths. You're strengthening the terrain from the inside out.

Step two is to work with a naturopathic practitioner to understand the unique deficiencies and vulnerabilities at play, because every body's story is a little different.

Excessive Bug Bites Are a Communication

A few mosquito bites here and there is just summer. But when someone is a true mosquito magnet, or struggles to work through bites, or reacts loudly, we have to look at the terrain.

Here's the reframe: there's really no such thing as being "allergic" to a mosquito. That big, angry, swollen reaction isn't the mosquito's fault, it's a sign your body is already carrying a histamine overload, and that your drainage pathways are stagnant. The bite didn't create the problem. It revealed one that was already there. Your system simply doesn't have the capacity to process and clear one more input, so it reacts loudly. They are not allergic. They are overloaded and depleted.

That's why this matters so much. The bite is showing you the terrain, and the terrain is something we can change.

This Is the Work

Building up that inner terrain is the work we do inside Fiercely Empowered Mama (FEM). Doors open only once each year, so get on the waitlist to be the first to know. Get on the FEM waitlist here.

In Part 2, I'll show you how to actually protect your family from bites. And in Part 3, the one I'm most excited about, I'll walk you through real-time treatment, including why I check my son's skin and treat every single bite, every night.

Got a kiddo covered in angry, itchy bites right now? Get them in a DIRTbath™. The humic and fulvic binders help the body draw out and move through the reaction while the minerals calm the system, easing the itch tonight while you build the terrain underneath.
